Echoes, Reflections, and the Future...
How it's been, and where it's going......
Welcome to my Substack! I'm Tim Staffell, and I've been thinking that I should bring a lot more of myself to the table. For those who don’t know me, I’ve had a diverse and fulfilling career as a musician, artist, and filmmaker. From my early days with Smile alongside Brian May and Roger Taylor, to my solo projects and various collaborations, my journey has been filled with creativity and exploration.
So why start this Substack now? Over the years, I've gained a perspective that I really should share. As I continue to create new music and art, and muse about what it means to be alive, I realized I wanted a dedicated space to connect directly with those who have supported me and who are interested in my work. This platform will allow me to share insights, updates, and reflections in a more personal and immediate way.
The Value of A Dialectic
This isn’t just a newsletter; it's a community. I envision this as a space where we can engage in meaningful conversations about music, art, and life. I want to hear from you as much as you hear from me. Whether you’ve followed my career from the beginning or have just discovered my work, everyone is welcome here. Let’s create a supportive, curious, and creative community together.
The Mechanics
Here’s what you can expect from my Substack:
As a free subscriber, you will receive a bi-monthly newsletter of ‘Tim’s Tales’ where I have been telling stories in chronological order of my songs, musings, and creativity from the sixties up until today. You can read the stories already released on my Substack archive.
For paid subscribers you will receive:
Weekly Updates: Every Monday, I’ll post an update about what I’ve been working on. This could be new music, art projects, insights into my creative process or perhaps random thoughts.
Exclusive Content: You will have access to deeper dives, exclusive tracks, behind-the-scenes content, early releases, reviews exclusive merch, and art.
Interactive Forum: Once a month, I’ll host a Q&A session through the message feature where you can ask me anything about my work, career, creative process, or something I’ve posted on Substack.
Special Collaborations: Occasionally, I’ll share collaborative projects and guest posts from fellow artists and musicians.
Toodles for now,
Tim x
